Local Blog Jamboree!

(sorry, this first bit will be very geeky)
I had been having a problem importing the San Diego Bloggers OPML into my NetNewsWire installation on my desktop computer — so I could not read the RSS/Atom feeds of all the SDBs. But this morning the import worked and so now, a San Diego Blogger Jamb0ree.

(From March) Kaya tackles the issue of the Mormon Temple of Doom:

The chances of me becoming an approved Mormon and entering this sacred space again were as good as my chances of marrying Rosie O’Donnell. Neither of us want to be tied to the other…and I think everyone is okay with that.

Krassy goes to local country/yuppie bar In Cahoots and blogs all about it:
“Tuck Your Shirt In! Last Warning!”

I got called a couple more times on my untucked t-shirt which quickly became the inside joke for the evening. It was funny to us, but not to Marlboro man. The fourth time he came over to our table, he looked me with a dead serious look in his eyes and through his teeth said “Last warning. Tuck it in or you’re out!” I am glad I obeyed, or he would’ve lassoed me by the ankles and dragged me across the dancefloor like the way Achilles dragged Hector in Troy.

Mythusimage Opines reflects on Reagan and “Tear down this wall,” from an Eastern European perspective:

Communism failed because theory is rarely the same as practice. Especially when it comes to human psychology, where we know so very little.

No, when President Reagan said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tearn down this wall.” he was saying nothing new to those of us who knew what the wall meant in the first place. He was only pointing out the emperor’s nudity for even pundits to see.

On a serious roll, Brian Dear of Brianstorms (who has a cover story on The Reader today!) points out that Madstone Theatres has bit the dust. Some of you may remember that he has written about Madstone before.

And El Oso asks, Where is my $2000, covered previously here.

In the “sad sad sad” department: Chronicle Corvidae lost all his/her posts due to a vociferous comment spammer. San Diego Blog offers its condolences.

In other hosting news Compooter is moving to the new blogging tool sensation Textdrive.

And to end on an “up” note, Banana Treehouse offers up pictures of duckies that are really USB drives! Que cutie!
