The sky downtown is an eerie amber fog. A thin layer of ash is collecting on everything. And that’s just the least of it.
Several San Diego Bloggers are talking about it already: Chronicle Corvidae, Howling Point, Sd Homies, Electric Boogaloo. check some of the San Diego media links — “local media” for more coverage. It’s all over the TV and radio.
Freeways closed. Ash everywhere. Definitely the future.

We were one of the first ones evacuated (actually, twice sunday morning, after we were evacuated we headed over to my parents and then it turned out that they were later evacuated) early sunday morning. All I can think about is how lucky we were that I woke up smelling smoke. It gave us about 30 - 60 mins of time to grab some of the important stuff. But now the waiting is killing me/us. It’s hard to not know if your home has been destroyed or not.
